First, I ran Codex Ultra. And let me tell you—the harness is a thing of beauty.

Once Codex Ultra gets a job, it goes and does it. Zero friction. Zero pop-up permission dialogues. Just pure, relentless execution. There's a reason Codex is gaining a million users a day right now—the workflow is that satisfying.

What Codex found:

It audited my media Slack and how I craft stories. Then it came back with a... boring problem. A perfectly valid problem, but boring. It suggested we make the "handoff package" better so I could get into scripting faster.

But. Once it got through the permissions and started thinking? Pure magic.

What Fable found:

It realized that the hardest job in storytelling isn't telling stories—it's choosing the right story in a world of infinite AI-generated narratives.

"What does Nate talk about this week? What matters to people? How do I even pick what I care about?"

That's the problem Fable solved. It built a "pre-pipeline" system that helps you refine ideas so they're easier to choose and act on.

The difference is staggering:

• Codex's solution: "Fine, I'll use it."
• Fable's solution: "I cannot not have this. This is essential."

That's the bar. Not "it's okay." Not "it's fine." Essential.

And here's the twist: Fable's problem definition was too narrow. Codex's was too broad. The winner? Neither. Both.

Here's what I realized running this head-to-head:

• Codex = Speed and Reliability. Fast, dependable, no friction. Perfect for executing known tasks.
• Fable = Strategic Vision. Sees the forest, finds the leverage points, picks problems that actually matter.

Together = Unbeatable.
